About Amy

Amy McIntosh, PT, DPT, GCS

Amy is a physical therapist serving the Binghamton, NY and surrounding Broome County communities, with a special interest in helping people overcome dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems.

During her years working in outpatient physical therapy, Amy met many people struggling with dizziness and balance issues that were affecting their daily lives. Symptoms like vertigo and imbalance can make everyday activities difficult. For some individuals, even getting to a clinic can feel overwhelming or unsafe.

Hearing these challenges from patients inspired Amy to create HomeMobility Physical Therapy, bringing specialized care directly to people in their own homes.

As a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist, Amy has advanced training in helping older adults maintain strength, stability, and independence while reducing their risk of falls.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Raising her family in the Binghamton and Broome County community has made helping local residents stay active and independent especially rewarding.

A Personalized Approach to Care

HomeMobility Physical Therapy was created to provide a more personal and accessible approach to care for people experiencing dizziness, vertigo, and balance concerns.

Through one-on-one mobile physical therapy, patients receive expert care in the comfort and safety of their own home. Treating patients in their home environment also allows Amy to better understand how dizziness and balance issues affect everyday life.

By observing how someone moves through their space, Amy can identify potential challenges and develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to their needs and goals.

Amy has advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation and regularly works with individuals experiencing dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders throughout the Binghamton area.

Her goal is simple: to provide personalized care that helps people overcome dizziness and balance challenges so they can move through life with confidence.

The Meaning Behind the Logo

The hummingbird in the HomeMobility Physical Therapy logo represents stability, confidence, and control. Three core elements of vestibular rehabilitation. Its three wings are inspired by the three semicircular canals of the inner ear, which play a vital role in maintaining balance.

Even in constant motion, the hummingbird maintains remarkable stability, reflecting the way the vestibular system helps us stay steady and confident during movement.

On a personal level, the hummingbird also holds special meaning for me. It reminds me of my grandmother, who was a major inspiration in my journey to becoming a physical therapist and continues to influence my passion for working with older adults.
